The Story behind the Art...
This artwork is an overall expression of my self love & healing journey. Consider it a personal reminder to world....You have to keep filling yourself up even when you feel like breaking. You have to show up for YOU and heal your own wounds before you could help another. This piece is about being resilient while facing adversity and learning to grow in the chaos.
The storm is something we all experience. It's the chaotic moments of life that happen while we are busy living. It comes and it goes. The storm, even in it's scariest moments, is a beautiful representation of all the things in life that we can't control.
The Butterfly is a symbol of hope, transformation and courage. She represents the beauty that comes from the storms life throws at us. Her energy is powerful and radiating. The most extraordinary thing about this butterfly is that instead of running from the chaos of the storm or giving into fear she decided to thrive in it.
The woman made of glass that you see pouring into herself is meant to depict all humans and how we are not made of stone but of glass. We are fragile beings that break and heal ourselves over and over again. Handle with care.
Each crack on her body is a symbol of her experienced trauma. It is our responsibility to mend what is broken. That is why the woman is bandaging her cracks up and pouring water over her heart.
The sunflower is a reflection her growth in the process of loving herself and her reconnection with God. Fully blossomed and stronger than ever. As she heals something beautiful grows inside of her.
Little by little we need to fill our minds with things that make us happy. Stop pouring into other people and start pouring into yourself. I pray that this piece touches someone's soul and helps them heal too.
